I-485 processing times updates

Most of the I-485 cases involving an approved Form I-140 are being held as a result of a visa number not currently being available or awaiting completion of requisite background checks. According to the USCIS website the processing times for Form I-485 has been added back to VSC's processing time report. In a case were a member has not received an update within the last 60 days that is if the case is outside of the processing times reported on the USCIS website the member can call the NCSC. Unless a visa number is available and all background checks are clear the center cannot adjudicate a case to completion. Therefore the center relies on the query system and there is not a separate procedure for those whose fingerprints results are nearing the 15th month expiration period.
