Is USCIS playing puzzle?

After continueously calling national customer service center, I finally received written response.
"The processing of you petition has been delayed. We are awaiting further information from another office to assist us in the final adjudication of this case. As soon as this information is received, processing will continue on this case."
I know my pending I-485 case stucked on name check for more than 2.5 years. This response is not even mention to FBI name check. I think USCIS is giving puzzle and playing word game.
Does anyone received the similar response?
