小白兔请帮忙：有关使用AP

my father is sick recently. I want to come back to China and possibly stay for a while with him. And I will need to use AP because I am using OPT EAD now.

My hu*****and (major applicant) and I are I485 pending now. We have AP. But this year's AP will expire later this year and we are renewing it. In the application document, it is stated that the during the AP application period, the applicant should stay in US.

In my case, because it is renewing AP, can I leave US while they are processing my application? In another word, can I be in China during the time after we file for the AP/EAD renewing and before it is approved.

Many thanks in advance! Really feel pain when I know my father is sick.
