Re-entry Permit Questions

I'd appreciate some help from those who have experience on getting re-entry permit. What kind of reason would be acceptable - temporary work OK? Need to explain why it's temporary or how to prove it's temporary? Usually how long it takes? Any lawyer could make it faster? Saw one claimed that (http://www.travelvisaexpress.com/ 6-8 weeks vs >1y).
