assuming that you would not be in status once your 485 was denied.

failure to show would result in a denial.

Genearlly, if there must be a reason for postponing the interview (i.e. Ur wife's being in China might be OK).

A reschedule likely would be made in 3-6 months if u could get ur H1 by then.
