请问小白兔等关于换工作

My I-140 has been approved in September 2005 under NIW with my major field of Ph. D study. My I-485 has been filled in Sept. 2005 and is in pending now. My question is what may be the consequence if I change my position into my minor field, which is not in the same field of my major study. My skills from the minor study help my work in my major field but the new position just fits the minor field. If a reference is required later, can an attorney help much to convince the immigration officer for the change? Thank you for your comments.
