Got an RFE, please help

Currently I am an H1-B holder and my wife holds an H-4 visa. I filed my I-140 and our I-485's concurrently last Feb. And we have got our Advance Paroles. A few days ago, I just got a letter from INS asking for more material (i.e., REF). But my wife has some emergency and need to go back to China. I am wondering if she come back USA using her Advance Parole, what is her status? If my I-140 got denied, if she can transfer to a valid status and stay in USA?
