AP questions

H1B now. 485 pending and AP just got approved. Questions are...
1. What's the process of reentering US with AP? Docs to prepare, and typical questions to be asked? Experts' opinion is appreciated!

2. Is it true that once I use AP, my H1B becomes invalid immediately and I have to use EAD? How many months before the expiration date should I apply a new EAD?

3. For F1 student (my wife), after using AP, should she immediately notify the International Students Office the status change from F1 to AOS? Anybody with such experience?
