XiaoBaiTu: urgent help, I-485 Part 3: Public Assistance

In I-485, Part 3, question 2: have you ever received public assistance from any source: We received some food/milk stamp three years ago (just for three months) when our son was born. Do you need to answer yes, and provide a page of explaination? Can we just select no? Any consequence with saying no?
