Land in Canada

Received our passports yesterday (1/22) Great new year gift!

Can I and my wife go to land in and come back to the US? We have a little baby and don't want to bring him with us this time. After we find a house in Canada, we will move there with the baby. Anyone know if we can go without the baby? Thanks! Good luck to all of you!
