urgent, please help!!!

My H1-B visa application was sent in June 9 (receipt date June 13), and I have not received any approval notice yet! The H1-B is for working in a non-profit orginization, and should not to the quota! I had also ted the I-485 with a receipt data of June 30.

The problem: I need to attend the meeting in China next week. Don't know what I should do. If I see the approval notice through the web, can I go even without have the approval paper? Need your help. Thanks.
