Name check cleared after 2.5 years of pending?

In the USCIS' email reply to my 485 status inquiry of yesterday, it's said that "your application is pending due to the lack of an employment based preference Visa. Your application will be processed when a Visa based on your classification becomes available." This is a different answer from the one I had received 4 months ago and one a year ago, the reason given back then was "the required investigation into your background remains open." Does this mean that my name check is cleared already? Has anyone seen this verbose change in USCIS' reply to their inquiry?
