Sorry for that. Until now, there is no clear answer in INA and regulations regarding whether F1 status still exists after filing 485. Someones say yes and others say no. So continuing on TA without using EAD may be illegal. My opinion, for your safety, is stopping TA before receiving EAD. On the other hand, after using EAD on TA, your F1 is formally gone.
