Apply for AP after ting 485

Hi all,

My lawyer told me I have to provide a letter of request or notarized proof of emergency reason for travel to qualify for AP. But actually I found in this forum that you only need to provide I-485 receipt for AP application. Which one is right? Confused. Thanks.
