Urgent! i140 and 1485 concurre

I am on F1, I want to concurrently file i140 and i485 to get EAD but I won't use it. Can my employer still file H1B for me? OR once I file i485, my status would be i485 pending, so I can't have any other status no matter whether I use i485 based EAD? Thanks.
