1. even now, non-immigration visa is not 100% to get for him.
2. after you file I-485 for youself, he is very difficult to get non-immigrant visa, which means he has to wait until maybe you get citizenship to come here. You cannot file 485 for him when he is in China.
3. after you file I-485 for him here, he can get AP for reentry. Maybe he can still go back to study and come here with the AP.
