If you are merely a rank and file member of the CCP, all your membership information is stored in your personnel file (档案). It is unlikely that the FBI can/will retrieve your personnel file, which is usually stored at your last company/university before you left China. If you want to be really cautious, ask your friends in China to whitewash your personnel file.
