stamp on the AP and I94

Hi, Dear all,
Recently I come back form China with my AP. The airport officer put a stamp on my AP and I-94, which say "paroled untill xx/xx/xxxx", exactly one year form that day. I am wondering whether I still can use this AP in this one year period?
Why he put the same stamp on my new I94? does it means that it wil be expired in one year?
