Yes, you can. Please check cic.gc.ca for more information. But you will have to find an offer of admission from university or college. You may also provide finacial certificate. But it will be a quick process. You mail your applicaiton to Alberta and they may give your decision in 30 days. You'd better send you application 30-50 days before you visa expired.
My recommendation to you is to apply for permanent resident of Canada instead of being an international student. Apply now!
