Xiaobaitu please

I am going to do H1 transfer to another university. I wonder if the dependents need to do H4 transfer/extension as well (My current H1 and dependents' H4 will be expired in 2008)? Or I can do their H4 transfer/extension right before the expiration of the current H4? Thank you.
