Please help again, it is so annoying

Last week the company cut my salary, today I got a e-mail from the attorney saying they need to file an amended petition for this position change. Is it really necessary? I just submitted I-140 last week, this amended petition for the H-1B means I need to start all the damn thing over again? I feel I'm dying for the damn card. Please give me some suggestions.
