difference:fire and terminate

What is the difference between fire and termination? I got another offer now but I want to continue my job searching to a better position. I had 2 months gap bewteen the two jobs. Should I write them in my resume? Will the future employers know anything about me from my previous employers? Can i hide the gap which means lie in my resume?
