我是主申请, 先生在国内, 我是否可以拿2个人的护照去水牛城?

Either way is fine. I think that mail both passports will be a better idea though. Just remember to use certified mail or something that you can track. Also include a postage-paid express-mail envelop so that they can mail it back to you.
再有, 一般情况下,护照签证期是多久? 1年? 2 年?
From the date that you did your physical exam, 1 year.
