请帮忙

我未婚夫很早就拿到绿卡但他在2000年的时候有过酒后驾车的记录在案,因次到现在还没有拿到公民.具他说今年七月以后就没事了,请问象他这重情况是否今年七月后就可以申请公民了,还需多久可拿到公民? 多谢.
