不给美国公司工作也能拿美国绿卡吗?

见了朋友们的帖子,忍不住给国内的朋友打了个电话,得知傅涛并没有为美国公司干,而是给非洲某国卖沥青,他怎么能在回国不到一年就那到绿卡呢?需心求教.
