Not exactly true. If you benefit from your current position when applying EB1a or NIW, you also need to be careful.

For example, in your EB1a petition you say you are playing a critical role in an institution. Another example, you say you benefits USA as a whole because you are working in a national lab. In these cases, if you leave your current employer, you may be in trouble.
