求救H4延期问题

I-140已批,I485pending,老公H1七月到期，需要延期。老婆用EAD临时工作过一周。律师说"She should absolutely extend her H-4 status, and there is no conflict if she used her EAD during our prior H-4 period".我从坛子里得到的印象是老婆已经失去了H-4身份。到底可不可以续H4，我有点糊涂。诚心地请教各位专家。
