guangzhou immigration visa interview waiting time

Could anyone share recent experience of citizen's parent immigration visa interview waiting time? In our case, NVC completed the process and forwarded the case to Guangzhou in August 2005, but we haven't heard anything from Guangzhou yet. Does anyone know how long the waiting is before receiving the interview notice? Also, do you know how much lead time it is between the notice and the actual interview day? Thanks a lot!
