It is a question about tax fix: I came here from mainland China on F2 Status. From 2002 to 2003, I was a graduate student. Can I claim the benefits of a U.S. income tax treaty article which allows $5000 deduction for students and scholars form Mainland China for those 2 years? I included the deduction in my return in 2003 and 2002. However I am not sure and am wondering whether I need fix it before I apply for a green card.
Thank you very much for replies!
