Help! Xiaobaitu and mytwocents, 485pending 换工作

我有一个朋友, 他在一个公司做Research Engineer,EB1b, 140已批, 485pending 已经超过180天.
他现在已经拿到了一所大学Faculty的offer, 研究领域和公司的工作相同.
这种情况, 若是换工作的话, 工作的nature是变了吗? 若如此, 是否要从140重新开始呢?
