$1,690: is it a H1-B extention Premium Processing

Dear all,

Two questions.

My H1-B extention was filed about 1 month ago. The current H1-B will expire in April 2006. I noticed the fee for the H1-B extension on the receipt from CIS (form I-797C) is $1690.00.

1. Is this H1-B extension done through premuim processing (based on the amount of dollor spent)?

2. After the current H1-B expires while the extension is still pending, can I leave my current company who is sponsoring the H1-B extension and move to another company if they are willing to sponsor my H1-B?
