Anyone who had experience about waiting time to obtain GC

I just send out form I-751 to remove my conditonal GC base on marriage. I just got receive letter which said that this going to take One year to obtain the GC. Does anyone know that I really have to wait one year? Also, my conditional GC will expire next month. what should I do if I want go to China in June? Thank you very much for your kindly answer.
