You definitely need to find a job in the same area soon. Althoug NIW is self-petitioned, if you do not have a job offer at the time of interview, it is hard to convince the officer that you will benefit NIW if he/she approves you.

The chance of an interview for a NIW case is greater than an employer sponshored case for the QC purpose.
