My own experience: I've been there on 2003. I just transfered to my new school. Everything seems smooth. But do be careful though. Everything has risk. I was pretty nervous as you too. You might not be able to get the visa. The reason I gave to them is I want to save my time in China. Because at that time, it is the Spring break. Why not have a good spring break trip to CJ?
