I asked my supervisor to write to the visa officer indicating I haveproficient in English. At the same time, asked my department to write a letter to visa officer, saying that I am a TA and has been a TA for several semesters. Also, send all the letters with your papers to the visa officer, you may get a chance to escape the language test.
