1. Validate period of a visa is determined by Reciprocity rule beteen China and the USAand currently no one-year H4 visa for Chinese applicant.
2. Immigrant intent should not be a obtacle for a H type visa. One year left on H1 is enough long. I believe that your H4 visa applicaiton is relatively safe.
