American widow(er) v. Spouse of I 485 principle

昨天在论坛里看到有人讨论 widow(er) of american citizen 申请绿卡的办法 (I-360)，由此想到以下极端情况：如果I-140已批准，在I-485等待期间,如果主申请人意外亡故，那么他配偶的I-485怎么办？
