as my point of view,if you never get rejection before, it should be ok for you go back to apply F2 again.
at least you should get signature from ISO on your spouse's I-20 with your name there. I don't know if SEVIS has your spouse's information or not. go to Internation student office to check.
anyway, it is your own risk and luck.also depends on who would be your Visa officer..
my hu*****and back and forth four times as an F2 before, 3 times applying for visa in Beijing and never got trouble.
