re: J-1 two years rule does not apply

Got Phd in England, come to US as J-1 with annotation that two years rule does not apply. I got a H1B without waiver. I am applying Green Card now and I am afraid that INS need waiver for green card process. Anyone with similar situation actually get green card appoved? How does you lawyer say about two years rule. Please help!!!!
