Patent issue in RFE

I got RFE from NSC. I didnot mention anything related to patent in the cover letter. I put one pending patent in my resume ( i used this resume to look for job). Due to limited time, i didnot change my resume. I didnot know how to address this problem. thanks for any suggestions!
