Try to get a waiver for your J-1 visa first. This may need 2-5 months depended on how fast you can get the necessary documents from China. And then you can apply for an H-1B visa. If you are working in a university and your boss supports you to do so, only 3-5 weeks you need to get an H-1B visa. It is not easy to apply for Green Card in so short time.
