j-1 waiver questions for help

我现在是j1的第二年，我的合同是一年一签。 因为担心j1 waiver 申请时间太长，现在就想着手申请，如果我的j1 waiver 在第二年里获得批准，那我第三年还可以续签j1的合同吗？或者第三年我必须换成H1 吗？ 非常感谢您的释疑！
