背景: MS in med.& org. chemistry. Working for a fortune 500 pharmaceutical company. 3 publications (2 1st author), 2 patents. About 15 citations. No award, no membership. 6 recommendations.
感受:
1. 推荐信和 cover letter 的内容应该实在, 允许适当的发挥, 但不要太夸大其词,把自己夸上了天有时反而有反作用, INS 要的是实在而确凿的证据.
2. 我的cover letter 是律师写的, 总体感觉是cover letter应该简洁明了, 但重点突出.在律师给我这份cover letter 之前, 自己也DIY 了一份cover letter 作 backup, 与他的cover letter 相比, 实在是又臭又长. INS是没有兴趣看这种长篇大论的东东的.
