Is this a gap for h-1 status?? Help

Hi, friends

I am going to move from Univ A to B. My expiratation data for Univ A is 5.2006. I am now filing for Univ B. If I get my receipt, I will go to work for B. My question is if I leave univ A on Jan 31(e.g.my last pay day), then take a week to move to Univ B, so I start new job on Feb 7.
Is this gap between two jobs considered illegal??
