Question of going back to China during F-1 to H1B?

I have a valid (valid till 06/2006) multi-entry F-1 visa now and my employer submitted application to change my F-1 to H-1B yesterday. But I must go back to China soon and return on 01/16/2006. My question is that if my application of changing F-1 to H-1B is approved before I come back, will I have a problem to reenter the US due to the change of my status? If my state date in H-1B is 01/20/2006, do I need to apply for H-1b visa in China?

Thanks for your help,

H1B status is not equal to H1b visa -2426- 给 2426 发送悄悄话 (426 bytes) () 12/02/2005 postreply 15:47:54

of course it may depend on when your H1b status becomes valid -2426- 给 2426 发送悄悄话 (195 bytes) () 12/02/2005 postreply 15:51:39

If you come back before 1/20, should be OK. -254245- 给 254245 发送悄悄话 (13 bytes) () 12/02/2005 postreply 15:52:55

亲身经历:如果你离开,你必须要申请H1签证入美. -6913- 给 6913 发送悄悄话 (241 bytes) () 12/02/2005 postreply 22:24:49
