There was discussion here before about how to reduce contract fees to the lawyer because of bad service. For your case it is slight different but may end the same: if you had a full contract with the lawyer that is to complete your GC, it is better following the track even though you submitted 485 yourself, the trouble you would have like many others did would then be avoided.
Otherwise ask the lawyer to send the notice to you!
