H1B or AOS after using AP

I saw several posts regarding this issue. But I am still confused. Here is our situation:

Both my hu*****and and I are H1B workers. My hu*****and got his I-140 approved and I-485 pending. We both got AP through him. What will our status be if we use our AP, H1B or AOS? Please share some info. Thanks.
