How long I need to wait

Dear man and girl,

I have applied J-1 in Nov., after getting DS-2019 form and all materials. However the US consulate said that I need to wait at least four weeks since I work as a post-doc in aerospace engineering department. It is so sensitive. After four weeks, I cannot get any news, anyone have experience in J-1 application. How long I need to wait in order to get the visa! My start date in the form is near. I am so worried. Please help me!!! Many thanks for all handsome boy and beautiful girl.
