for J2 visa

I came to Duke University four weeks ago by J1 visa. I want that my dauthter and hu*****and also come here as soos as possible, But I can get the J2 visa form after four monthes. Is there any rout which permit their come to US earlier? if they can come to US by B2 visa , whether can my daughter go to school or not? Can they transfer the B2 visa to J2 after they arrive ?
