how could Canada PR card help on my situation ?

situation:
1. I and my wife are both H1B holder , I have been on H1B for
4.5 years and my wife has just started her H1B.
2. I have submitted LC for more than 2 years so far , my case should be
in backlog center right now.

so my questions is : if my employment may encounter any problem before I
get GC , and my H1B may be running out 6 years , how can Canada PR help me?
